Stand Up Guy (SUG) is a prevention and awareness campaign modeled after the successful campaign in Scotland-UK, Don’t Be That Guy, inviting socialized boys and men to reflect on their language and behavior associated with women and girls and to confront behaviors that can lead to sexual and domestic assault and intimate partner abuse.  SUG is part of a comprehensive, multi-prong community effort to address root causes of intimate partner and gender-based violence in the Cedar Valley. The campaign will promote socialized men and boys to re-evaluate their role in prevention, realize the connection words and language have with physical violent acts, and reframe peer loyalty and norms. 

This Stand Up Guy landing page will serve as a hub on positive masculinity and men's engagement and be home to resources, PSA’s, social media links, educational materials, and more. Anyone working with men and boys in Iowa can utilize the SUG campaign materials.
